Candidate & employer terms
Plain English, because you should be able to understand what you are agreeing to without a lawyer. These terms cover the careers section only; the general site terms and privacy policy also apply.

1. What is free, and stays free
Registering as a candidate, completing a career assessment, being included in our talent pool, and applying for any role advertised through M1R Careers are free of charge. We do not charge candidates a recurring fee of any kind, and we do not charge a fee for finding you work or for representing you to an employer.
2. Paying for a service does not buy access to work
We offer optional, fixed-price services — a written career map, a resume rewrite, LinkedIn positioning, interview coaching. Purchasing any of them does not guarantee employment, does not give preferential access to vacancies, and does not make us more likely to represent you to an employer.
Candidates are considered for opportunities on suitability alone. Recruitment services are never conditional on purchasing anything from M1R.
3. Consent — three separate decisions
We ask for consent in three distinct parts, and you can give any one without the others:
- Consent to be contacted — so we can reply to your assessment and talk to you about your situation. This is required for us to do anything at all.
- Consent to be represented to employers — permission for us to put your details forward proactively. You can decline this and still use everything else.
- Consent to marketing — the newsletter and community updates. Entirely optional and separately unsubscribable.
When you apply for a specific advertised role, that application is its own consent to share your details with that employer for that opportunity. We do not treat one application as blanket permission to circulate your resume.
4. Your information and your resume
Your resume and assessment answers are stored securely and are read by the M1R Careers team. They are never published on this site, never sold, and never shared with an employer without the relevant consent described above.
You can ask us to correct your details, withdraw a consent, or delete your record entirely at any time by emailing careers@m1ralliance.com.au. Candidate documents are deleted once they are no longer needed.
5. Referral fees and how we are paid
Employers pay us a fee when we place a candidate with them. That is the main way this service is funded and it is why the candidate side is free.
Where we refer you to a training provider, we may receive a referral commission from that provider. Wherever that applies, we say so on the page where the referral appears. Our assessment of whether you actually need a qualification is made independently of whether we would be paid for it — and where you do not need one, we will tell you so.
6. What we do not promise
We cannot guarantee employment, interviews, a particular salary, or that any specific pathway will suit you. Career mapping is professional judgement informed by current market research, not a prediction. Salary ranges published on this site are indicative only and vary by industry, employer and location.
Coaching provided by M1R Careers is career and employment coaching. It is not counselling, psychological treatment or clinical support. If you need that kind of help, the wellness support page lists services that provide it, and in an emergency call 000.
7. For employers
Employers using M1R Careers agree to consider candidates on merit, to comply with Australian anti-discrimination and workplace law, and to treat candidate information provided by us as confidential and to use it only for the vacancy it was supplied for.
Fees, replacement terms and any guarantee period are set out in the written agreement for each engagement, not on this page.
8. Vacancies listed on this site
Some roles advertised here are recruited by M1R Careers directly and some are listed on behalf of an employer or partner who manages their own process. Each listing says which. We take reasonable care that listings are accurate and current, but the employer is responsible for the role, the conditions and the hiring decision.
9. Changes and questions
We will update these terms as the service develops, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed materially. If anything here is unclear, email careers@m1ralliance.com.au and we will explain it in plain terms.
How M1R Careers works. Registering as a candidate, completing a career assessment and applying for roles is free, and always will be. Purchasing coaching, training or membership does not guarantee employment, preferential access to vacancies, or representation to employers — candidates are considered on suitability alone, and recruitment services are never conditional on buying anything. Where we receive a referral fee from a training provider, we say so on the page. Read the full candidate and employer terms.
