I spent 11 years in the Australian Army, most of it in the infantry with the 8th/9th Battalion. Finance and property were the things I read about in my own time the whole way through, and when I got out I wanted to keep doing the part of service that actually mattered to me: taking a problem off someone, doing the job properly, and not making them chase you for an answer. That is why Duty First Mortgages exists. The name is not decoration. Duty first means the work gets done the way it should be done, and the person in front of you comes before the paperwork. A lot of our clients are veterans and currently serving members. We know DHOAS, we know how a posting cycle can wreck a settlement timeline, and we know how allowances, DVA payments and military super read on a payslip, because we have lived it. We work with police, firefighters and ambulance crews for much the same reason. Shift work, penalty rates and allowances get read differently by every lender, and knowing which ones read them properly is most of the job. We also work with plenty of people who have never worn a uniform. First home buyers, families refinancing, people building a new home, investors. The service is the same either way. We work with a panel of 75 lenders, we explain everything in plain English, and we handle it from the first conversation through to settlement and well after it.
