For me good lending advice isn’t about ego or big talk — it’s about care, extracting the details, patience, strategy, and doing the job thoroughly & properly for the person in front of you.
Three generations before me served in the Army across World War I, World War II and Vietnam, so it felt natural that I would follow that path too. I was fortunate to spend three years in the Army, creating great memories while feeling deeply connected to my country, its people and its heritage.
After my Army service, I built a career in mining, where I sold and financed more than $200 million worth of Caterpillar equipment in just three and a half years. It was a fast-paced environment filled with large numbers, big personalities and serious cheque books. I enjoyed the energy and challenge of big business, but over time I realised something was missing. I was helping corporations grow, but I wanted to work more directly with everyday people.
Like many hard-working Australians, I had learned the value of discipline, commitment and dependability, but I had not been taught enough about money. My wife and I experienced the consequences of poor financial literacy ourselves, including being stung by the banks. When we eventually paid out our mortgage, we found ourselves asking, “What’s next?” More importantly, I started asking, “How can I use what I know to help others?”
That was my light bulb moment, and finance became the logical next step.
Today, I help clients navigate lending with a practical, strategic and personal approach. I take the time to understand each person’s circumstances, goals and challenges, then work to align them with lenders and finance structures that suit their needs. I am known for being thorough, persistent and sometimes spending more time than expected on a client’s file — but my clients come back because they know I have their back.
Having managed my own self-managed super fund for 16 years, I also bring personal experience in residential and commercial property acquisition, including investing through superannuation.
My ideal client is someone who wants to refinance, purchase an investment property personally or through their SMSF, and is willing to provide the right paperwork in a timely manner so we can work together toward the best possible outcome.
At the heart of what I do is simple: I help people make better finance decisions, protect their position and move forward with confidence while I do the heavy lifting for free.
