Shift Work Coach | Night Shift Specialist - Frontline Health and Emergency Services

For more than 40 years, I worked the front line working 24/7 with Victoria Police. I lived the reality of shift work for 4 decades. The long nights. The missed sleep. The pressure. The constant switch between survival mode at work and trying to function at home. In 2024, my policing career came to an end when I was medically retired with PTSD, anxiety and depression. That chapter could have broken me. Instead, it became the turning point that gave real purpose to everything I do now. Long before leaving policing, I had already started searching for answers. In 2019, I certified as a Nutritionist and immersed myself in evidence-based health education, specialising in Chrononutrition, the science of how food interacts with the body depending on the time of day. I continued studying body image, eating disorders and disordered eating, women’s health, and later became certified as a Trauma Informed Breathwork Facilitator. What became clear to me was that most shift workers are trying to perform in environments their bodies were never designed for, yet very few are ever taught how to manage it properly. Today, I combine lived experience with science-backed education to coach shift workers, predominantly women, on how to navigate shift work with more energy, better health and greater resilience. I’m the Founder of A Healthy Shift, where I help shift workers move from simply surviving to genuinely thriving through mindset shifts, practical habits and routines that actually work in the real world. The feedback I hear most often is, “You just get it because you’ve done it.” And that matters. Because shift workers do not need another textbook expert who has never worked a night shift. They need someone who understands the job, the exhaustion and the pressure firsthand. I also host the A Healthy Shift Podcast, now approaching 400 episodes dedicated to helping shift workers improve their health, sleep, nutrition and wellbeing. Alongside one-on-one coaching, I deliver highly regarded seminars and keynote presentations that have been trusted by organisations including Queensland Police Service, Victoria Police, Queensland Youth Justice, pharmaceutical companies and government agencies. Everything I teach comes back to one simple belief: shift workers deserve better support, better education and better health outcomes.
